A game changing weekend for Southport's night life...
Its exciting times for night life lovers in Southport with not one but three stylish new bars officially opening this weekend.
It is well documented that Southport’s nightlife has seen a resurgence over the last few years. Beauties like Remedy, Peaky’s and Tap & Bottles are offering up new and exciting choices that could as easily be in Liverpool or Manchester and old classic bars are getting stylish new lease's of life such as Rueters. And who among you was keeping the secret about The Hideout on Hoghton Street and its terrace bar?
The game has also been raised again this last month with the newly launched Spender’s Bar and its brilliantly unique cocktails and beer pong! Across the road, the brand-new Chop House opened just over a week ago offering up a slice of the alternative with live rock every weekend.
But the list of reasons to head for the town centre is about to get longer as not one but THREE exciting new venues are set to open this weekend and mean a night out in Southport just hit a whole new level.
First to get a shout is the much-anticipated club Khepri. If you haven’t picked up on the mystery and anticipation surrounding this opening then quite frankly what have you been doing? Developed by the entrepreneurs behind The Bold Hotel’s spectacular refurbishment and the other new addition to Lord Street, Punch Tarmeys, it is being billed as a game changer for Southport’s night life.
The Middle Eastern/Mediterranean menu looks sublime (we plan on consuming on the whole mezze menu on our first trip). Once the dining is done, the restaurant makes way for a state of the art night club, with VIP balcony and experiences. The owners invite you to ‘Devour, drink and dance’. Don’t need to tell us twice.
Next up is the elegant Piano Bar in what was Munroes on Coronation Walk. Another opening shrouded in a little intrigue, this exclusive bar is bringing back an old school elegance and class with its stunning décor and grand piano. With champagne and cocktails flowing, it will offer another VIP experience with private booths, table service and jazz nights.
Last but not least is Cocoa House. This family run cocktail and beer house snuck open two weeks ago but officially launches tonight. The décor and setting are amazing and the cocktails & cask ales they are teasing us with on their Facebook are exciting and we can’t even cope with the giant chocolate bar in a vice ready for ‘shaved to order’ hot chocolates….. Did we mention yet they plan to serve tea and coffee in a secret garden? Can.Not.Wait.
What a weekend it will be in Southport this weekend! Exciting times. IF you make it to any of these new hot spots this weekend please tag us @southportindies into your photos, or indeed if you are at any indie venue at all. Eat, drink* & enjoy!
