A perfect wedding planned in a day? Everything you need is here on your doorstep...

It’s wedding fayre season and we are feeling the love so thought it was time for a guide to getting your perfect wedding all sorted in one day here in Southport  (timescale may be a tad unrealistic but let’s go with it for fun…)

Where it all begins

Let’s start at the beginning, when the magic moment happens with the all-important proposal. We have covered before now the fact Southport has a historic reputation for fine jewellery – and couples would travel miles to get a unique bespoke piece from Lord Street. There are still so many great places to head to today – too many to name. Hirons of Wesley Street, Shaws Jewellery in Wayfarers can create something bespoke. Tienne offers something less traditional and quirky or go antique with Saratoga

It's all about the venue…

Now its debatable what’s next – venue or dress? But today we will go venue. There are two amazing independent hotel’s in Southport – with The Vincent offering sleek and contemporary surroundings and The Bold Hotel providing and glamorous and opulent setting. There are some you may not have thought of though – the second floor of Bar Eighty Eight is stunning, with some gorgeous and elegant features. There is a lovely balcony overlooking leafy Lord Street and it’s twinkling fairy lights. For smaller weddings, there are gorgeous places for an elegant or fun family meal and celebration – from the Firepit to Twelve or Auberge.

Back to the dress…

Hot Frox on Eastbank Street and Glitz Ritz Tiaras in Wayfarers have all your bridal and bridesmaid needs taken care of with spectacular gowns on offer and personal service.Want made to order?Sophie & Anna dressmakers on Hoghton Street can make your dreams a reality (and can make bespoke bridal underwear for the wedding night!)

Feel like a Hollywood star…

We are a stylish bunch in Southport and there is no shortage of great salons offering everything from wedding hair to lashes and nails for the top to toe stunning bride. G Style, Element 5 and Owens – just too many to list so find on here. For a beauty treatment and pamper head to Flutterby Salon or Beauty Beyond Belief or go the whole hog and book a pre-wedding pamper and spa at The Portland Hall.

Did someone say cake…

Wedding cakes in 2017 are something else, and we have three artists here in Southport making sure that whatever look you are going for your grand centre piece it is bound to draw gasps. Vanilla Nova are exquisite, Cake Creations create art and Lillibets bring Parisian chic to everything. If you or someone who (really really) cares wants to make it for you, All about Cakes has all you need.

It’s all in the details…

Like the cakes, wedding venue dressing and the details of the day are on another level these days.Have you been spending hours trawling through Instagram and Pinterest looking for inspiration?Fantasy Weddings can turn your vision into a reality with perfect attention to detail. If you want to do it alone, find lovely little things in Creative Studio or Candle Delight. Get artistic with paint supplies from Pillio Art. Fancy a vintage afternoon tea theme? Don’t waste your weekends at car boots, The China Shop has 100’s of mix and match sets. Flowers will be safe in the hands of June the Florist or Aaron Mark  Floral Design.

Not just about the Bride...

Yes bride to be you heard us. Seems hard to accept we know but the groom and his boys need a scrubbing up too. Reputation, Man to Man and Lapel will have him look him smooth and stylish. Master Barbers or Maestro can tame his tresses and get the right amount of designer stubble sorted so make the appointment as you wander. Mother of the brides can also be styled up at Muse or Coco Boutique or go vintage at Susan Hayward.

Book the Honeymoon…

Book it In Style are a brand new bespoke travel agency in Eastbank Street offering old school personal booking service to help you create your perfect holiday. You are bound to be tired after all the boxes you will have ticked today, so sit down on their sofas, enjoy a glass of prosecco while they create the break that you will definitely need once the wedding stress is all over.

P.S. We didn’t forget the Photographer. May we recommend Matthew Rycraft or Tarleton Photography? Both friends of us here at Southport Indies and dam fine at their craft.
